The responsiveness of the ECJ regarding the above rights and values, along with the standard of protection, is also assessed.

– and this view was expressed at the time of the future of Europe debate at the turn of the century but resonates even more powerfully today – the final understanding and adoption of the principle of solidarity (enforcing the value claimed by the Treaty) is the key.
