Definitions
A standby ticket is a type of travel ticket that allows a passenger to wait for an available seat on a flight or other mode of transportation, rather than having a confirmed reservation. Standby tickets are often used by travelers who are flexible with their travel plans and are willing to take a chance on getting a seat if there are no-shows or extra capacity.
