What Active Dictionary changes

Understanding a phrase is only the first step

Save a useful phrase with an example. It will be close at hand when you write or practise speaking.

One phrase, step by step

How a phrase from a PDF reaches your dictionary

Find a phrase in the document, save it with an example, and see it later in Writing.

  1. 1

    Notice

    You find a useful phrase

The phrase radar helps you notice it in a text, PDF, or captions.

  2. 2

    Save

You save it to your dictionary

The example from the original material stays with the phrase.

  3. 3

    Return

Writing selects the phrase for a matching task

The saved phrase appears under My Phrases when it matches the topic of the task.

  4. 4

    Decide

You decide whether to use it

Insert it, change it, or skip it. You still write the final text.
